Clayton, Nation’s #1 Manufactured Home Builder Celebrates 65 Year Anniversary – Clayton, a national homebuilder of site-built and off-site homes, celebrates 65 years since Jim Clayton first started the company as a “mobile home business” in the 1950s. Back then, it was a small store location that hosted local country music performances and family events. 65 years later it has grown into a diverse housing provider of off-site manufactured homes and traditional on-site- housing.

Nevada County Ordinance Would Require New Manufactured Homes To Be Placed On A Permanent Foundation – Lyon County (Nevada) announced on Dec. 10, 2021, that the Board of Commissioners was considering an ordinance that would require manufactured homes to be placed on a permanent foundation, that a two-car garage be required and established a limit of a manufactured home older than six years old not to be set in Lyon County.– Editor’s note:  The Carson Now.org article did not state why this was proposed. Most likely “nimby” related opposition and/or to generate tax revenues and/or protect realtor interests.

Report: U.S. Existing-Home Sales Grow As Prices Increase: Existing-home sales rose in November, denoting three consecutive months of increases, according to the National Association of Realtors. Three of the four major regions reported growth in monthly sales, while the fourth region held steady in November. From a year-over-year perspective, only one region experienced a rise in sales as the three others saw home sales decline. Sales fell 2.0% from a year ago, from 6.46 million in November 2021 to 6.59 million in November 2021.

The medium-existing home price for all housing types in November was $353,900 up 13.9% from November 2020 ($310,800 ($319,800), as prices increased in each region, with the highest pace of appreciation in the South region. This marks 117 straight months of year-over-year increases, the longest-running streak on record.–  Editor’s note:  The D.A.R. sales numbers include existing manufactured homes titled as real estate. According to a local report by the Ocala StarBanner, the average sales price of existing manufactured homes titled as real estate in Marion County Florida appreciated 32.9 percent in one year with an average sales price increasing from $94,474 to $129,508.
